Measures to ensure that new development is flood resilient are supported. It must be recognised, however, that the re-use and expansion of existing industrial sites located within the flood plain (including the Ipswich port) should not be unnecessarily fettered by flood restrictions where simple measures such as flood evacuation plans can allow industrial activity to safely take place.
