Sustainability Appraisal Scoping Report

Representation ID: 24688

Received: 18/10/2017

Respondent: Mr Chris Wheeler

Representation Summary:

Public transport needs to be improved and made more seamless. The East Suffolk Line can be easily be improved by dualling the section between Woodbridge and Saxmundham, or (at lower cost) by building a passing loop at Campsea Ashe. This would immediately enable an equally spaced hourly timetable, and with the new train fleet due in 2019 potentially a more frequent and higher quality timetable. This would lift the line from being useful, but a bit inconvenient, to a much more convenient choice.
