NPPF sets out that LPAs must plan for biodiversity at a landscape scale across local authority boundaries (para117).
Para117 highlights that LPAs should identify/map components of local ecological networks, including hierarchy of international, national and locally designated sites of importance for biodiversity, wildlife-corridors and stepping stones that connect them and areas identified by local partnerships for habitat restoration/recreation.
NPPF Para157 states Local Plans should contain a strategy for enhancing the natural environment.
We support amended wording to final sentence of new paragraph which follows para8.182 to commit to the Recreation Avoidance and Mitigation Strategy. This as consistent with national policy.
