The Society objects to the following wording in this policy's supporting text "cycle and pedestrian bridge to link the District Centre with the housing to the north of the railway". The provision of land and the cost associated with such infrastructure is not considered viable when acknowledging the abnormal costs associated with the site, including the presence of contamination.
As currently worded, it is considered that this aspect of the policy is not justified as it fails to properly consider viability and therefore fails to meet the tests of soundness, as required by paragraph 35 of the NPPF (2019).
