Representation Summary:

This substantial area lies within an area of archaeological potential, close to sites and finds recorded in the Suffolk Historic Environment Record (HER) including a Roman coin find and a post-medieval warren and warren house. Topographically the site lies just above the 35m contour, in an area of medieval heathland, with the head of the Mill river c.330m to the north-east. Work in comparable locations suggests potential for unrecorded prehistoric (Bronze/Iron Age) and Roman settlements and field systems. No objection in principle to development but it will require a condition about archaeological investigation attached to any permission. Early assessment advised.
