The Local Plan should seek to ensure that the objectively assessed needs for market and affordable housing are met in full. Where necessary, the Council will need to ensure that its evidence base is up to date to ensure that this can be achieved. This will also include the need to test a range of policy options through the sustainability appraisal process to determine the most appropriate strategy to pursue with regards to housing mix, affordability, affordable housing and the density of development.
